Day 2 = 15 Mile Hike

So day two of Ireland complete! We had orientation this morning after breakfast. They showed us the campus and the surrounding area were all the convenance stores and groceries are located. Its not as far as I thought it was gonna be. Only a short 3-5minute walk! I decide to go ahead and get a few necessities that I had to have while i was there..... I bought shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper, dish detergent, 2 bottles of soap, paper towels, 6 pack of sponges, and a twelve pack of travel tissues... and guess how much all of that coast me!?!.... on 18 eruo! Love it <3
So once were back and unpacked we decide to go in to the heart of Waterford to look around and then catch a bus to Dunmore East, which is famous for the giant cliff by the harbor. Okay to get to town it's a 45 minute trek (2 miles)! Beautiful! Absolutely breath taking.... Honestly I could live here.... Okay so back to the hike, you know you entered in to the "old" City Center when you pass through the medieval wall, yes an actual wall that lines the entire city! SO FREAKIN' COOL!!!

We keep walking for about 5 more minutes then were in the heart of Waterford.  Everything thing was there, food, SHOPPING, and transportation. I'll tell you about the shopping.... there were 16 shoe shops, 16 ! Yea i LOVE Ireland! LOL but they have a mall there, Oh and on a side note when the clock hand hit 6:00pm every shop closed, they don't care if you were gonna spend 1,000 bucks they were closing shop.

Oh and there are Pubs EVERYWHERE!! ;)

After looking around we ended getting on a bus to Dunmore East which is the coast closest to Waterford. Only a 20-30 minute bus ride, not bad. I twas beautiful there too....there was a food festival going on while we were there on the harbor. You could buy local food and treats while watching the sailboats.... very peaceful, and the people are sooo nice, they will go out of there way just to help you.... after that we walked the cliff walk, basically it is what it says, we walked alone the cliff. It was terrifying. I didn't take any pictures while we were in Dunmore, it was a rainy day and I didn't want to mess my camera up but a friend took some really good ones. Thanks Lis

Breath taking..... Loved it there. The walk plus trekking through the town was well over 6 miles. Once we were finished with the walk we got back on the bus to head back to City Center. After arriving we decided to find something to eat. after walking around the town for 40 minutes we found this hole in the wall pizzeria. Let me tell you that pizza was delicious! I had the pepperoni express... but the pepperoni tasted like Irish ham, (there is a big difference between US ham and Irish ham.... just say'n) but surprisingly it was to die for. Once we finished our pizzas we decide to head back to campus to turn in for the night. Which from the pizzeria it was like a 3 and a half hike back to the college. So when its all said and done I hiked close to 15 miles today! Looks like I'll be able to lose weight on this trip after all lol.
