So on Friday I jumped on a train to go up to Northern Ireland to see how different it is compared to "Southern Ireland." I have to say that I prefer the Southern portion of Ireland.... and its not just but cause I'm from the "South" either, though its part of it. The reason is that Belfast has soooo much influence from "England," that it didn't feel like Ireland anymore. But I still had fun while I was there.
The first thing we did in Belfast was to go see all the C.
S. Lewis stuff. Lewis was born and grew up in Belfast and that is where the
tour begins. It is here in the city of his birth that 'Jack' as he was known to
his friends was first influenced; it was here that the seeds of Narnia, The
Screwtape Letters and the Space Trilogy amongst a great many other works both
fiction and non-fiction were sown in that young impressionable mind. We went to
the church where he was baptized in and went to the Wardrobe Statue. So Cool… I
tried to get through the wardrobe but couldn’t reach Narnia… lol

We also went was the site of the Thompson Dry-Dock and
Pump-House, once the beating heart of Harland & Wolff during the
construction of the great White Star Liners - the Britannic, Olympic and most
famously, the Titanic. Today the Pump-House comprises of a Visitor Centre &
Cafe, Interpretative Centre, meeting rooms & event space. We also operate
daily tours - the only publicly accessible intact piece of the Titanic's great legacy,
which is open in the city of her birthplace - Belfast.
